Guidis’ Estate-Plan Gift to Prep Will Support Tuition Assistance

Karen and Tom Guidi ’70 P’97 ’09

Karen and Tom Guidi ’70 P’97 ’09 are longtime volunteers and Prep parents. Tom has been a volunteer for the Office of Institutional Advancement as a phonathon caller, served as president of the Parents Club and chair of the Headmaster’s Council, served on his reunion committee, and now is a member of the Board of Trustees. Tom has been able to put his years of institutional knowledge to use by helping to guide and shape St. John's Prep into the unparalleled school it is today. Karen has served as a member of the Guild of St. William and on the Parent’s Club.

When Tom’s 50th reunion was approaching a few years back, Tom and Karen knew that they wanted to include St. John's in their estate planning. Ensuring that all students have access to St. John's is important to them.

"We give back to St. John's Prep because we recognize the benefits of a St. John's education. We have chosen to support tuition assistance to help make a St. John's Prep education available to all students who might not otherwise be able to afford it.”

Tom and Karen chose to support St. John's through a planned gift because they knew they could make a more substantial gift that way, supplementing their annual giving to provide even more tuition assistance for future students. By naming St. John's Prep as a beneficiary in their wills, they were able to achieve this goal.
