Empowering the Next Generation

David Ives ’75 P’07 and Pamela Burch P’07

Longtime volunteers both at St. John’s and many other organizations on the North Shore, David Ives ’75 P’07 and Pamela Burch P’07 are committed to education. They give of their time, talent, and treasure generously and the impact of that support has been significant.

Attending St. John’s was a transformative experience for David. It allowed him to mature into his intellect, and he found that he was very prepared when entering college. David and Pam felt the same way about the education their son, Graham ’07, received at St. John’s.

After graduating from St. John’s Prep, David attended the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. He has been actively involved at both schools. Pam was also a very active student leader at UMaine, where they met 44 years ago.

David served two terms as a Prep Trustee (1994-2003 and 2011- 2018) serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees from 2015 through 2018 during the Campaign for GOOD. It was during that time that David and Pam revised their plans and increased their support for St. John’s through their estate plan. They give back with the hope that future students will benefit from their philanthropy and have greater access to a Prep education. “We hope to support and empower the next generation of St. John’s Prep Servant leaders,” said David.
